Sustainable Landscapes Lead

Masters of Management and Business Administration

Jana is passionate about protecting the world's remaining tropical forests and advocating for forest and biodiversity conservation as a key strategy for maintaining a healthy climate.

A specialist in implementing ESG and zero deforestation commitments in global supply chains, Jana has over nine years’ experience working with companies and communities at the forefront of innovative sustainability solutions and approaches – focusing on commodities such as palm oil, timber, rubber and cocoa in Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining The Biodiversity Consultancy, Jana worked at Daemeter Consulting where she led a portfolio of responsible sourcing projects, working with dozens of multinational companies to help them embrace and put in place sustainable sourcing commitments, and supporting the facilitation of large inter-company collaborations to drive action at scale.

Jana has built a successful track record advising agribusiness traders, producers, buyers and financial institutions on adoption of sustainability policies, including the design of implementation plans and roadmaps, grievance mechanisms, traceability systems, supplier engagement strategies, risk assessment protocols, purchase control systems and community empowerment programmes.

As well as her role in strategic advisory, Jana also has extensive experience managing smallholder and traceability programmes at the field level, which focused on smallholder inclusion and improved livelihoods. Jana has a double master’s degree from the University of Economics in Prague and HEC Paris in International Management and Business Administration.
