Cindy Cosset

Cindy is an applied ecologist and conservation biologist with over eight years of experience working across diverse regions, including Borneo, Colombia, Oman, and Madagascar. She specialises in assessing biodiversity outcomes under different land uses, agricultural systems, and reforestation strategies, as well as designing long-term biodiversity monitoring protocols and identifying areas for biodiversity protection.
She holds a PhD in tropical ecology and conservation from the University of Sheffield, where her research focused on forest restoration and the impacts of selective logging. Cindy has worked with NGOs, academic institutions, government agencies, and local communities to deliver science-driven, policy-relevant conservation strategies.
Currently a consultant at The Biodiversity Consultancy, Cindy works within the Nature Strategies team, applying her expertise in biodiversity metrics, biodiversity monitoring protocol design, and nature impact assessment. She supports clients to develop robust nature sustainability strategies, embedding biodiversity and sustainable land management into decision-making and science-based target setting across value chains.
