Strategic Director – Nature Finance

Do you want to join a purpose-driven consultancy in biodiversity and nature sustainability, advising market-leading financial services clients on due diligence, nature investment strategy and biodiversity risk management? Do you want the scope and team to drive meaningful and lasting change in sustainable finance?

As Strategic Director for Nature Finance, you will be a vital member of the senior management team and will lead a group of dedicated biodiversity and nature finance specialists in the development of ESG/Finance offerings for banks, investors and insurers. You will be responsible for driving growth in the uptake of our science-led approaches in the finance sector, advising clients through emerging initiatives and tools designed to help the financial community integrate nature into decision making.

You will be a senior professional, experienced in managing ESG performance within a financial institution. As the successful candidate, you will possess in-depth working knowledge of emerging good practice approaches in managing the financial risks of nature impacts and excel at building strategic partnerships with the sector to mobilise nature finance.

Principal Consultant – Nature-based Solutions Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Principal Consultant to work with us in one of the most promising areas of sustainable finance. As a Nature-based Solution Specialist, you will be part of a team of dedicated sustainability experts, advising global clients on projects and investments which produce positive outcomes for nature and climate.

This is an opportunity to impact how finance flows toward the protection and restoration of nature, where you will play a central role in developing and contributing to projects which connect clients with high integrity carbon projects delivering biodiversity co-benefits. This current vacancy is for a Principal Consultant with at least five years’ experience of voluntary carbon project development, including REDD+ projects, and a background in field conservation in developing economy contexts. We offer a range of benefits, including: 25 days’ holiday, non-contractual bonus, company pension scheme, life insurance and flexible working opportunities.

Principal Consultant – Nature Finance

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Nature Finance team, working with innovative and market-leading financial services companies on one of the biggest challenges in sustainability – closing the funding gap for nature protection and restoration.

To succeed in this role, you will have a background in sustainable finance or natural resources management, with at least five years’ experience working at the interface between environmental, social, and governance issues for lending or investing activities.

Ideally, you will have experience in setting up, managing or assessing ESG/Impact funds, or will have been involved in managing their E&S performance and outcomes. You will have in-depth working knowledge of emerging good practice approaches in managing financial risks of nature impacts & dependencies, and on financial disclosure frameworks on sustainability.

Product Manager: nature data and analytics

Ideally UK-based (preferably Cambridge), remote locations in strategic locations possible for exceptional candidates. The Biodiversity Consultancy holds a UK visa sponsorship licence for international applicants.

Our Technical Development and Design team is seeking a talented individual with strong product management and commercial experience in taking data products to market. Working alongside our biodiversity and sustainability experts, the role will be responsible for developing and packaging client-facing product offerings for businesses across a range of sectors.

As an experienced and collaborative product manager, you will match client needs with data product design. You will be well-versed in the role of environmental data in business and have a track record of successfully developing and launching data and analytics services.

Intern – Development projects

UK based

We are seeking an intern to provide a wide range of support to projects, undertaking research and offering advice and written documentation for projects and proposals. The purpose of the role is for the intern to gain a rapid and broad understanding of a specialist environmental consultancy.

You will work within our development projects team and support a broad range of projects from mining and agriculture to renewable energy. Key to the role is supporting the team and our clients to develop and implement project level biodiversity management in alignment with international good practice. You will have experience of working in a non-OECD context in a relevant field and field experience related to biodiversity, conservation or ecology and be keen to work with the private sector. You need a relevant honours degree, with additional postgraduate qualifications viewed favourably. Additional language skills are beneficial.
