John Yip

John is a researcher with a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from the National University of Singapore, where he studied the emerging field of biodiversity credits and their significance for conservation finance. He works with the Nature Strategies team, providing support for projects from a range of sectors, including agriculture and luxury brands. He also supports our communication efforts, both internally and with our clients.

Prior to joining us, John was a journalist with more than 15 years of working experience with newspapers, magazines, and Singapore’s national broadcaster, where he produced content on politics, the economy, and foreign affairs, as well as climate change, sustainability, and the environment. The stories he covered heightened his awareness of the growing urgency of conservation and sustainable development and inspired his mid-career switch.

John is fluent in English and is a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.
