Katherin Pertsinidis is responsible for running the business and heads up the executive team.
As Managing Director, Katherin’s priorities are directing operations and providing strategic guidance to the board to ensure that we achieve our mission. And our over-arching aims – the pursuit of an ecologically sustainable future and the integration of nature into business decision-making – are her key sources of motivation.
She also draws inspiration from her amazing colleagues – within and outside The Biodiversity Consultancy. The concept and reality of “team” is very important to her. She believes that the right people, equipped with the right skills and driven by the same core values, are central to TBC’s effectiveness and so sets a lot of store by recruitment, people development and team happiness. Getting along inside and outside work tends to help, too!
Katherin is an experienced manager of people and projects. She has significant experience of recruiting, selecting and managing high performing teams. She also brings senior communications experience and expertise to The Biodiversity Consultancy, with a particular focus on making scientific material come alive to non-technicians.
Her background is publishing and communications and she has over 15 years’ experience of bringing technical material to life for specialists and non-specialists. Before joining TBC eight years ago, Katherin’s experience included NGO and publishing sectors, with roles focused on communications. She started her career in book publishing before joining the Royal National Institute of the Blind, the UK’s leading charity for anyone with a sight problem, where she lead publishing, magazine, web and internal communications teams.
Even with a masters in Linguistics, Katherin is basically a monoglot, but can just about get by in Spanish and Greek.
