Joe has been working on projects relating to biodiversity conservation for over 10 years. For much of this time he was employed as an environmental consultant at Bureau Veritas Ltd, working with multinational corporate clients on Biodiversity, Ecology, Climate Change, Environmental Management Systems and Environmental Impact Assessment.
In 2012, Joe co-founded a biodiversity restoration and re-wilding consultancy called Wild Business Ltd, which he continues to direct, and which now constitutes a team of four specialists.
In 2014, Joe completed a PhD on the topic of biodiversity offsets and environmental change. He has published a number of peer-reviewed papers on the topic of No Net Loss, and continues to carry out academic research as a Visiting Researcher at Imperial College London. His research has been translated directly into policy, most notably due to his recent employment as an international expert on a 12 month UNDP project in Central Asia.
