David Nemecek

David was an experienced freelance consultant on sustainability in finance and policy. A former Senior Associate at the climate think tank E3G in the EU Sustainable Finance team, he has been involved in projects on sustainability disclosure regulations (CSRD/ESRS and SFDR) and transition finance in the Central and Eastern European region. Before, he worked at the International Sustainable Finance Centre, where he managed a research workstream on sustainability in banking and led projects on blended finance, EU Taxonomy, and green and sustainability-linked bonds. Earlier in his career, David worked in evidence-based policy, development finance and export banking. 

David is a Fellow at the IPBES Business & Biodiversity assessment, holds degrees in political ecology and business from the School of Oriental and African Studies and the Prague University of Economics and Business respectively, and still maintains some academic publication activity.

He speaks English, Czech and Spanish, is fascinated by forest ecosystems, and is a Goju-Ryu karate practitioner.
