Robin Mitchell is The Biodiversity Consultancy’s first Regional Director with a focus on the Pacific Rim. Robin combines TBC’s global expertise with local knowledge and insight. He works at the forefront of policy and practice for achieving ecologically sustainable development across the private, finance, public and civil society sectors.
Robin is a landscape ecologist with twenty years’ professional experience in biodiversity conservation, sustainable agriculture and ecological restoration projects – spanning the government, university, NGO and consultancy sectors in Global South countries and in New Zealand.
During the last ten years Robin’s work has focused on assessing impacts of development projects to biodiversity, ecosystem services and natural capital, and on designing or evaluating the performance of mitigation strategies against various policy, safeguard or legal compliance frameworks. He regularly advises on corporate and national biodiversity and ecosystem services risk management policy.
Robin will be on leave from July to November 2017, before taking up the post in earnest from hi New Zealand base.
